Requirements To File For Divorce in Alabama: If your spouse is not a resident of Alabama you must have been a bona fide resident of this state for six months before filing for divorce. This must be stated in the complaint for divorce and proved to the court.

Alabama State Statute: Alabama Code § 30-2-5

The Alabama Divorce Complaint form can be used to file for Divorce when there are NO minor children and NO assets or debts for the Court to divide. If children are involved or if the court must divide debts or assets, you must obtain a Divorce Complaint from the Circuit Court. Once complete, the Divorce Complaint must be signed in the presence of a notary public.

The Alabama Request For Divorce Judgment By Default form used to Request a Default Judgment in a Divorce when there are NO minor children and NO assets or debts for the Court to divide.

The Alabama Answer To Divorce Complaint form can be used by the Defendant to answer a Divorce Complaint.

The Alabama Certificate of Divorce should be filed at the same time as the Divorce Complaint.
